The Demonic Influence over Nations
Today’s intellectual climate makes us doubt that demonic forces seek to control and are strongly influencing and shaping intellectual, governmental, economic, religious, and sociopolitical institutions. Satan’s objective is not only to lead individual souls astray, but we learn from the Renewed Covenant (NT), in Revelation that Satan is in the business of deceiving the nations as well.
[Revelation 20:3, 8 NLT] 3 The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he must be released for a little while. … 8 He will go out to deceive the nations–called Gog and Magog–in every corner of the earth. He will gather them together for battle–a mighty army, as numberless as sand along the seashore.
In addition, according to Revelation 12:9 he leads the whole world astray. Staggering wouldn’t you say?
[Revelation 12:9 NLT] 9 This great dragon–the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world–was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.
What is Satan’s ultimate deception? Revelation says that the plan of Satan, the great dragon, is to control political power. The dragon (satan) gave the beast (the emperor) his power, his throne and great authority…. “Men worshipped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worship the beast. 16 He (the beast) required everyone–small and great, rich and poor, free and slave–to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. 17 And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name,” Revelation 13:2&4;16&17. It is the beast—that is, human rulers, Revelation 17:11—that makes the war against Christ and God’s Covenant keepers and wants to govern in place of God.
It was the authority and the splendor of the oppressive political institutions of man that Satan claimed were his Kingdoms in Matthew 4:8&9. Notice Satan said the kingdoms of the world were his!
[Matthew 4:8-9 NLT] 8 Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.”
How does deception infiltrate nations?
[Romans 1:18 ESV] 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
A Person’s Morality Shapes His Ideology
A Nation’s Morality is Shaped by Its Ideology.
Please read the above verse again slowly. I would suggest you circle the word ALL in your Bible. This verse is all-inclusive because the apostle Paul is addressing all the world not only an individual who suppresses the Truth. (Remember when I capitalize Truth it indicates all the body the Judeo-Christian doctrine). The apostle Paul teaches in Romans chapter 1:18-32 that the Kingdom of Satan is activated:
When all men suppress (stamp out, extinguish) the Truth by their evil behaviors.
When they allow their evil actions to convince and reinforce their beliefs.
These beliefs are manifested in the promotion and advancement of diabolic ideologies that are contrary to the Bible.
Examples: Marxism, Communism, Islamism, Antisemitism, Globalism, Socialism, and Social Justice doctrines including Black Lives Matter, Critical Race Theory, and Transgenderism.
Also, a major Satanic ideology that emerged in the present era during the Enlightenment and is with us today in the postmodern world— All truth is relative. This has accelerated the falsehoods of humanism, atheism and paganism.
Suppressing the Truth leads to many destructive behaviors like corruption, which is manifested in many ways through the taking of bribes. Corruption which is the breaking of the Eight Commandment, “You shall not steal,” (Exodus 20:15), and the Nineth Commandment, [Exo 20:16 LSB] 16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor, which both speak against corruption. With widespread corruption across the world, it is impossible for societies to morally succeed politically, judicially, economically, and socially.
Regarding Bribes:
It is morally jolting to realize that the Lord God, who loves justice (Deuteronomy 16:20), identifies Himself as the God who does not take bribes.
[Deuteronomy 10:17 LSB] 17 “For Yahweh your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the fearsome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.
[Amos 5:12 NLT] 12 For I know the vast number of your sins and the depth of your rebellions. You oppress good people by taking bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts.
Corrupt judges that legislate their false ideologies from the bench in many cases promote the proliferation of lying and stealing. A society is in trouble when those who try to do the right are hated for their commitment to justice. Society that exploits the poor, the morally upright, the wealthy, because judges disregard the Truth is bent on destroying itself. This is one reason God, through Moses said,
“[Deuteronomy 16:18-20 NASB95] 18 “You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. 19 “You shall not distort justice; you shall not be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. 20 “Justice, [and only] justice, you shall pursue, that you may live and possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you.
Later in the life of Abraham Lincoln, he was asked why he was able to resist temptation when someone offered him bribes. He replied that even as a president he could hear his mother reading out loud the biblical commands “Thou shalt not steal.” and “Thou shalt not bear false witness.”
As The Leadership of Nation Goes, so Goes the Country
The reality is most citizens in most countries of the world simply desire to live a good and productive life with security and protection for themselves, children and extended families. The reputation of a country, in large part, is dependent upon the moral upright character of its leadership. Those in authority ultimately set the direction of the citizenry.
Rehoboam was an example of how a king’s foolishness divided his kingdom and brought the judgment of God, when Judah was conquered by Egypt. After the nation split, Jeroboam, the new king of Israel, saw the priests and Levites as threats to his new government because they retained loyalty to Jerusalem. So, he appointed his own priests, effectively banning the Levites from their duties and forcing them to move to the southern Kingdom. Notice below, Jeroboam’s pagan priests encouraged idle worship and even worshipped demons. Yikes.
[2 Chronicles 11:15 NKJV] 15 Then he appointed for himself priests for the high places, for the demons, and the calf idols which he had made.
In the future, most of the people in the northern Kingdom would go along with the evil designs of the kings. Once again, “As the leadership goes so goes the people.”
[1Timothy 4:1 NKJV] 1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
Satan can corrupt our cultures and control social institutions because he is able to darken the minds of the unbelieving, most assuredly the minds of secular leaders. False ideologies that deny God have to make the state the ultimate authority, making the state the Lord and only savior, and thus reject the first of the 10 commandments, “You shall have no other gods before me” Exodus 20:3. Satan uses false ideas to turn the state into an oppressive beast and rulers into wolves.
[Luke 22:25 NLT] 25 Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people,’ (Benefactors).”
Angels and Demons over nations.
[Daniel 10:12-14 NLT] 12 Then he (a mighty angelic being that looked like a man 10:5) said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. 13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. 14 Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.”
Oh, my friends, this is simply staggering, for the Lord God is pulling back the curtain into the supernatural world in which we live! You see a brief glimpse of evil spirit princes that are aligned with Satan. We gain further insight into the Lord of Heaven’s Army led by Michael the chief archangel.
I personally believe that there is at least one Angelic being over each nation as well as a demonic being over each nation.
Examples below:
A demonic being over Persia
[Daniel 10:13, 21 NLT] 13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. …
An Angelic Being over Israel
Daniel 10:21 and 12:1 21 Meanwhile, I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one helps me against these spirit princes except Michael, your spirit prince. 1″At that time Michael, the archangel who stands guard over your nation, will arise. Then there will be a time of anguish greater than any since nations first came into existence. But at that time every one of your people whose name is written in the book will be rescued.
Friends if you feel so inclined, fall on your knees with me now in contrition 🙏🏼! Stand up with your heads and hands lifted in praise to Him as Almighty God (El Shaddai) because He is the Lord of Heaven’s Cosmic Army, (Yahweh-Sabaoth, God of Hosts)! 🙌
Please be in amazement and astonishment with me accompanied with radical contrition as you peruse with humility Daniel 10. Whatever you do friends, don’t lose your awe and wonder of El Elyon (God most high, Genesis 14:18-22) and His majestic Word!!
Applying Truths from this Teaching
1. Please be sure that your Christianity is more than about your personal walk with Christ. For that matter instill in your family, and with other God-fearing believers, that the Bible is filled with attention for the affairs of nations and the cultures within those nations.
One reason the Book of The Covenant (OT) is marginalized by far too many evangelical churches is that congregations are filled with Christians that want their needs met. If you will, we have codified and accepted a self-absorbed almost narcissistic incomplete Faith. People demand that their needs are to be met by the pastors that lead them, and pastors willingly comply. Read Christian books and listen to most sermons — they are almost exclusively geared to meeting the needs of people, or some aspect of one’s personal growth with Christ.
The second reason we consider the Torah “as Strange” (Hosea 8:12) is that much of it addresses the broader cultural issues in the nations and the nation of Israel in particular. It does not appear to address the heart felt devotional type needs that modern Christendom is occupied with. Personally, as I have immersed myself in the Torah the last few years I have discovered my personal walk with Christ is stronger than it has ever been. The reason: [Matthew 6:33 KJV] 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
2. Increase your understanding of the Torah, by studying commentaries like Dennis Prager’s treatment of the Book of Exodus and Deuteronomy. Study 10 of the articles in the Founders’ Bible. When you read a Truth from your study apply it by addressing the broader culture via writing an article though texting, email, teaching the content in a small group, while discipling another person or a bible study.
