Love is Giving More and Never Keeping Score

February 18, 2015Dale Ebel

“[Love] takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].”- 1 Corinthians 13:5 AMP

Love is giving more and never keeping score.

Over the years, I have walked with many families through the sin of failed relationships when one person sins or violates their marriage vows. I have equally seen the negative effects which occur when one party refuses to forgive after there true repentance has been demonstrated.  The sin of un-forgiveness becomes a greater destruction to the whole family. Perhaps this is one of the reasons the Apostle Paul exhorts the Corinthians to forgive the man that sinned and accept him back into the fellowship and extend him forgiveness (See 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 & also 2 Corinthians 2:5-11). Clearly when we do not forgive someone, we become vulnerable to the schemes of the devil (2 Corinthians 2:11).

In Hope of Forgiveness,

Dale
