Romans 8:14, “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (NASV)
The dynamic of being led by the Third Person of the Trinity who lives in us is both objective and subjective. The main source of the Spirit’s direction for our lives is the objective written Word of God. Where the scripture is clear, we are simply to obey and are led by the Spirit.
The Spirit also leads us subjectively when He gives us impressions, thoughts, ideas, promptings, and desires. Listen to His voice! Hebrews 4:7, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.” The subjective leading of the Spirit is always confirmed by the wisdom of other believers and by being in sync with the overall wisdom of Scripture.
True sons and daughters of God listen both objectively and subjectively and walk in His will and in His ways
