Our Mission
We believe that discipleship is central to Christ's message of the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Reclaiming what it means to be Christ-followers, by implementing the principles and practices He taught us, will bring about lasting life-change and spiritual offspring. DEM seeks to educate, inspire, equip, and train everyday followers of Christ to adhere to the will and ways of God our Father, thus becoming more like Christ in our inner person and outer practice.

To Envy or Emulate?

May 21, 2019Seth Ebel

To Envy or to Emulate the Successful? That is the question. “13 The man [Isaac] became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. 14 He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him. 15 So all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in…

The Founding of the State of Israel

May 17, 2019Seth Ebel

May 14, 1948: The Founding of the State of Israel Seventy-One years ago, was the first birthday of the Nation of Israel in modern history. I think God also enjoys celebrating and recognizing significant birthdays! “Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? Can a country be born in…

Opportunity Cost “There was also Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant warrior from Kabzeel. He did many heroic deeds, which included killing two champions of Moab. Another time, on a snowy day, he chased a lion down into a pit and killed it” – 2 Samuel 23:20 NLT A number of years ago while I was…

Prisoners of our Past or Pioneers of our Future?

April 24, 2019Seth Ebel

The other week I watched an interview that Diane Sawyer had with Jill Price in 2008. She has written a most intriguing book titled The Woman Who Can’t Forget. Pick a date, any date, after February 5, 1980. Jill price can tell you what day of the week it was, what she did that day,…

In a previous teaching article (February 5, 2019) on our website I quoted futurist John Naisbitt as saying, “Learning how to learn is the most precious thing we have in life.” After being in ministry for 45+ years I would also say,  “learning how to unlearn is primary and learning how to learn is secondary.”…

Total Recall

April 2, 2019Seth Ebel

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” – Philippians 2:5 KJV I recently read a story in Mark Batterson’s book, IF, about Dr. Wilder Penfield a neurosurgeon who had operated on 1,132 patients. Many of his patients suffered from epileptic seizures and he sought to know why. Penfield performed many opened-brain operations some…

Leverage Your Regrets

March 20, 2019Seth Ebel

“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.” – Galatians 6:1 NIV God wants to do so much more than simply forgive our sin. He wants to leverage our past regrets for His eternal…

Clarifying Romans 10:4

March 18, 2019Seth Ebel

On October 26, 2018 I wrote a teaching on Matthew 5:17. Probably this verse and Romans 10:4 are two of the most misunderstood and misused verses in the New Testament.  [Please CLICK HERE to read  my teaching on October 26th before you read the following article] “For Christ is the end of the law for…
