We believe that discipleship is central to Christ's message of the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Reclaiming what it means to be Christ-followers, by implementing the principles and practices He taught us, will bring about lasting life-change and spiritual offspring. DEM seeks to educate, inspire, equip, and train everyday followers of Christ to adhere to the will and ways of God our Father, thus becoming more like Christ in our inner person and outer practice.

About The Social Justice Movement

November 27, 2020Seth Ebel

In view of the staggering rapidity of the Social Justice Movement (SJM) influencing the broader culture and now many evangelical churches, I am recommending a powerful book: Why Social Justice is not Biblical Justice, by Scott David Allen. I also am writing because I love the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ and realize that…

I Am Voting

October 28, 2020Seth Ebel

What I am voting for November 3, 2020. First, I would like to address two constant comments I hear about President Trump, especially from Christians. #1 He is arrogant and brash. #2 He has had an immoral past. #1 The last time I checked everyone of us have an ego problem. As our son Seth…

Contrasting the Democratic and Republican Platforms

September 30, 2020Seth Ebel

Repeatedly, God evaluates people in authority and renders an opinion about their character, behaviors, policies and the skill in which they reigned or governed. I believe we who profess to be Christians ought to do the same in regard to our governmental leaders and their particular party affiliation. Here are two samples. Omri: Omri became…

20 The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness. – Ezekiel 18:20…

Do We Have a Right to Judge?

August 20, 2020Seth Ebel

Over and over again I hear Christians and non-Christians alike make inaccurate and incomplete statements about judging. The misunderstanding  is usually framed as a question:  “Who has the right to judge?” Or statements like, “I’m far from perfect so who am I to judge.” Another popular one is, “I’m not here to judge anyone.” Some will say…

A Strange Jesus

August 20, 2020Seth Ebel

A Strange Jesus Popular culture often creates the impression that Jesus was a softy. We are all familiar with the false portrayals of a gorgeous Caucasian male with long flowing hair whispering passive words of love and good will. Yet this dumbed down, sanitized depiction of Jesus is alive and well in many of our modern…

Will Heaven Be The Same For Everyone?

August 4, 2020Seth Ebel

The Biblical Answer is NO! While heaven will be wonderful for all inhabitants, Scripture makes it clear that not every believer’s position and experience in heaven will be the same. Heaven’s rewards —its possessions and positions—will vary from person to person.  Some Motivational Realities About Rewards • Not all of us will hear the Master…
